We aim to build meaningful relationships with individuals, groups, and communities by listening to their concerns, understanding their interests, and responding in a timely manner to emerging issues that may affect our operations or the well-being of those around us. Our approach is guided by our Sustainability Management System, which provides a consistent framework for engagement and performance across the organization. 

We also recognize the importance of Indigenous community engagement. Some of our activities take place within or near Indigenous territories. Where relevant, we have formal agreement with Indigenous communities and have implemented procedures to support engagement, economic inclusion, and cultural conservation, while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation. These communities are central to our stakeholder engagement efforts, and we continue to build strong relationships based on mutual respect and shared value.

To assess the effectiveness of our engagement, we use tools such as the Social License to Operate Index and our grievance mechanisms. These systems help us document interactions, measure satisfaction, identify trends, and improve the quality of our responses. Site-level social performance teams play a key role in maintaining ongoing engagement and integrating community insights into decision-making.

We understand that our activities can affect communities in many ways. 

As part of our SLO Index surveys, we ask community members to reflect on key indicators of procedural fairness, including whether: 

• The company listens to and respects their opinions on community issues
• People in the community have opportunities to participate in decisions that affect them
• The company is willing to change its practices in response to community concerns
• The company follows through on its commitments

Our goal is to improve the procedural fairness component of the SLO Index across all sites, reinforcing our commitment to respectful, responsive, and inclusive engagement.
